Privacy Policy

Manila Scanner · Effective 2 September 2026

The short version Manila Scanner collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no crash reporter and no server to send anything to. Your scans stay on your device until you choose to share them.

What the app stores, and where

Scans, the PDFs made from them, and your settings are written to Manila Scanner’s own private storage on your device — the app’s sandbox on iOS, its private app storage on Android. Other apps cannot read it. Nothing is copied anywhere else. Uninstalling deletes all of it, which is why the app offers a backup file — there is no cloud copy to fall back on.

Permissions, and what each is for

Manila Scanner asks for nothing else. There is no location access, no contacts, no microphone, and no advertising identifier. On Android the entire app declares a single permission, CAMERA; on iOS the camera is the only prompt you will ever see.

What leaves your device

Only what you send, when you send it. Tapping Share, Export or Print hands the file to your device’s own share sheet, and from there it goes wherever you direct it — mail, a messaging app, cloud storage, a printer. That transfer is between you and whichever app or service you chose; Manila Scanner is not part of it and keeps no record of it.

What the app does not do

Manila Scanner works in airplane mode. That is the simplest proof of all of the above, and you can check it yourself in about ten seconds.

Keeping and deleting your data

Manila Scanner keeps your scans for exactly as long as you do, and nowhere else. There is no retention period to expire, because nothing is held on a server — the files sit in the app's own storage on your device until you remove them.

There is no request to send us and no account to close, because we hold nothing to delete. If you would like that confirmed in writing, ask and we will confirm it.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, any change would be about wording rather than practice — and if that ever stopped being true, it would be said plainly here first.
